Until recently, all I knew about Iceland was that they had vikings.
So when my parents showed me all their pictures from their stopover in Iceland last year, I was surprised. Why hadn't I known that Iceland was SO BEAUTIFUL? I just had to see this magical land for myself.
I had Iceland safely tucked away on my travel bucket list, then last Christmas my parents surprised my sister and I with tickets to the Blue Lagoon-- we had a cruise through Norway planned for the summer and were going to stop in Iceland on the way over!
As soon as we arrived in Keflavík, we hopped in our rental car and booked it to the Blue Lagoon. There's nothing like getting off a flight and heading straight for a giant silica hot tub! After the most relaxing couple hours of my life, we went to explore the lovely town of Reykjavík. I have never seen such a stylish town!
The next morning we got to explore Thingvellir National Park, where you can actually dive or snorkel between The North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Although I didn't get to dive this time, it's on my bucket list for next time!
After only a couple days, I could easily conclude that Iceland is a place like none other, and I will for sure be going back!
